Taster at brewery. Light brown, cloudy, patchy head. Malty, nutty aroma with an astringent edge. Taste is malty, but the ABV is prevalent and muddies the palate a bit. Sweet and warm.

This particular batch of this beer I'm drinking now on-tap at the brewery is 8.5% ABV. Served in a pint glass, this beer is a clear, dark amber/brown color with a nice hear that's about 1/3 of an inch when first drawn and served that settles quickly to a thick ring surrounding the inside of the glass at the beer's surface along with good lacing here too. Aromas of roasted malts with some caramel sweetness along with some nice Maple syrup notes. A very similar flavor profile, with roasted, slightly bready, caramel malts with a nice presence of maple syrup sweetness and some earthy hips to give a bit of balance here. A very nice flavor profile overall. Has crisp, slightly chewy, slightly prickly, yet also smooth, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate carbonation. Easy to drink in a good way. Has a clean finish with a sweet, roasted aftertaste. A good beer here.

Hoppier than most brown ales. Decent nose with a dry finish. Red in color not brown with semi filtered quality.
