Stopped by the brewery for the first time earlier today. has this on-tap and liked it enough to get a growler of this. Poured into one of my pint glasses, this beer draws a pretty dark, clear brown color with some deep, ruby highlights when held up to the light. Has a tan/light brown head that's initially an inch thick when first poured. Head settles eventually to a nice thick ring lining the inside of the glass along with a creamy looking film layer of surface foam. Good lacing here too. Aromas of roasted, caramel malt sweetness along with hints of coffee and chocolate that's rounded out with a slight bit of hops. The taste is pretty much the same, with roasted, somewhat bready, caramel malt sweetness with some dark chocolate and just a slight hint of coffee that's all rounded out with a mild earthy hop presence. Has a mainly smooth, creamy, and frothy, slightly chewy, somewhat lactic like, medium bodied mouthfeel with minimal carbonation. The flavors really are blended nicely together here, especially as the beer sits and warm up a bit. Has a mostly clean, dry finish. Worth a try for sure. I was fairly impressed with this one.
