As described on the can: "Inspiration Point was a real jumping off point for the Flying Norseman who heralded the winter sports phenomenon in Colorado. His story inspired us to add tail grabs and flatspins to the classic West Coast IPA. Heavily dosed with hops and utilizing a thiolized yeast, this beer is as aromatic as fresh evergreen air. One thing we learned from the old Norseman - anything is possible just go for the jump you've been dreaming of."
Light amber color with a mild chill haze. The carbonation bubbles up through the can's opening but doesn't spill over. Despite this, the head is moderately sized but sticks around and settles in a lumpy fashion. Some thin rings after each sip with minor streaks and spots in between.
Lovely sweet caramel aroma with a touch of white toast. The secondary hop nose is floral and balancing.
The taste flips the aromas with bitterness now dominating and the beer tasting drier than the smell. The body is slightly richer than the typical IPA with a lower carbonation. The malt start is brief; the bitterness comes quickly and leaves an extended aftertaste. Overall, this is one of the better West Coast IPAs I've had.
