On cask at the Red Hot the other night.
The beer certainly looked attractive enough, pouring an orange amber color with decent head retention and lacing. I thought the nose would be a bit more explosively hoppy and bitter, but otherwise, I got the expected dry citrus, sweet malt (a bit more than I was expecting), and a hint of pine. The flavor profile was more of same, though I thought the malt presence was a bit much. It really didn't seem to blend in all that well with the beer, as there was a precipitous drop off to the very dry and nicely bitter finish. Alcohol was well integrated into the flavor profile, which is always nice to see.
A decent beer, but given the brewery, I have to confess I was expecting a better, more impressive effort.

A: Poured a dark golden color, fair sized white head, good lacing down the glass
S: Smell is of citrusy hops, cant smell much other than that really...thats ok by me hops are awesome
T: Taste is sweet up front with a nice citrusy hoppy bitterness toward the end.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth, carbonation is about right for style I would say
D: Pretty drinkable beer, will get this again if and when I make it back to maritime pacific

Poured a sweet fresh and golden beauty and fruity. I had this with the BBQ sandwich and man it hit the spot. Nose was nice with some citrus notes. Taste is chewy but smooth, nice malts and great hops. Citrus and a little floral. Drinkability is very good as this is a smooth beer with just a slight ite at the end.Maritime rocks.

Poured into bubble pint glass. A beautiful hazy gold with a slight orange tint. Poured with a small, quickly dissipating head that left a lot of lovely, sticky lacing. Hop forward aroma. The flavor has more body and fullness than the aroma had indicated. A very hop forward beer, not much body, but a pleasing hop presence. Leaves a spicy hop tang on the back of the tongue. As noted body is on the thin side, seems mostly to be a hop delivery device. Nicely drinkable, depending on the bar I may stick with this, but would likely just include it in a round of tap testing. A good solid beer from a good solid solid brewery, try it if you see it.

thanks k for pimping this twice.
first pour is hazy gold and sunny with a reverse-cascading army of carbonation left after a week in transit. the lacing forms immediately and clings like velcro to the side in rings. the surface of the brew maintains a viscous layer of thin white head.
orange-zested biscuity aroma, showcasing those bready pale malts. definite raw honey notes as well as buttercrunch pecans. hops don't really display much earthiness here but arrive in spades, and the malt takes control of my senses.
great medium mouthfeel is alive with brisk carbonation, and an even bitterness is pronounced in the swallow. hops blossom initially, rather dry and botanical with the faintest hint of envelope glue. finishes with the falsely sweet sensation of chewing a lemon rind. alcohol flashes quickly in the final moments of savoury enjoyment, but not enough to throw off the palate. this is both drinkable and exotic for an apa... the alcohol is a little higher than i'd like for how sessionable i believe a beer with these flavors could be. west coast beer in an east coast mimicking west coast style. reminds me of some of our best ipa's and pale ales out this way.
a recommended beer, but don't expect the hop-infused madness of the left coast to leave its fruity mark on you here.

Sampled from a growler I received from Kim...thank you very much.
I was looking for something to assist me today while hanging lights around the house and this was perfect.
Pours a pretty golden yellow with a perfect half inch white head that melts slowly to a top covering sticky lacing that lasts the entire glass.
Aromas are soft sweet pale malt, bready yeast, and just a hint of the hops hidden inside.
The taste is wonderfully balanced between the sweet pale malt and the citrus hops...nothing overpowers...rather the flavors evolve from sweet to drying citrus. Really well balanced.
No hint of alcohol in aromas or taste...just a smooth mouthfeel and pleasant aftertaste of the brew making you want another sip...and another.
I have a feeling it's going to be real easy finishing this growler.
This may very well be the most balanced beer I've ever had.
Thanks Kim.

It's baaack. On tap at Rb's, but I'm not sure for how long. The bartender gave it two days...tops.
A: Pours a cloudy peachish color with a frothy one finger white head. Excellent inmate clothing line-like lacing. I swirled the glass when I was about half finished and the head resurfaced with authority...amazingly great retention.
S: Sweet fresh fruity notes, mostly grapefruit, melons, orange peel, and lemon with a slight infusion of malt (very slight).
T/M: Big citrus fruit hop blast up front--slight maltyness in the background. At first this brew sports a creamyness that quickly turns lip smackingly bitter. Let me just say how smooth this offering is--amazing. Extra dry finish hangs out for awhile. Medium body with a good level of clean carbonation. Hopheads enjoy!
D: One of the better beers I've ever had--Extra smooth, but has a firm bitterness--these two don't get muddied together. As my buddy put it, "This beer is a Wow beer." I could drink these all day--almost makes me want to move to the Great Northwest.

Many thanks to Chris at Redbones for bringing this hop monster in....one of the first tapped for the PNW influx.
Pours a honey amber color with a full finger of bright, white head...most of which sticks around for the duration and leaves behind some very tight lacing.
Citrus hop aroma hits the nose right away...a hint of malt as well.
The taste is incredible...starts with a huge citrus hoppiness and finishes with some floral hops to boot. A generous amount of malt to balance out the flavor, as this one has 5 different malts used to create this one...the alcohol is nowhere to be found in the flavor.
Extremely bitter, which takes over any sort of balance in the finish...perfectly carbonated to go down too easy.
Mouthfeel is full bodied...very fresh and clean.
A great way to start the arrival of these hoppy goodies...will try and get back for at least one more pint.

Clear, light golden colored brew fills the glass, and is topped by an attractive cap of fluffy snow-white foam.
Fresh, citric aroma, peach and grapefruit, pine needles, nectarine, very lively and attractive.
Taste it, already! Mmmmm, zam, rebop, bim, bam! Hops ride high in the saddle, advancing on the palate from the fore, but smooth and tasty is the order of the day. Lush, delicious malt is there, too, but the bright, vibrant hops are right in charge. slick, moist, viscous, oily...but not overdone in any regard. Hard to find any flaws with this pale ale.
Curious, though, where the Imperial tag comes into play, not knowing the ABV, and not feeling it, either...not hoppy enough to be an IPA, either...but the hops are played very well in this zesty ale, and I will have a ball with the remains of this growler!
much thanks to skyhand for providing!
