The Black Diamond

Kind of an odd joint, this is an expansive, wide open place that's 3/4 pool hall, 1/4 restaurant. The bar area is in the corner of the huge pool hall section, and maybe has about 12-14 seats. Certainly not all that cozy, but clean and tidy, anyway.

Decor/vibe is definitely lacking, but luckily everything else makes up for that. The taps are mostly craft-dedicated, high quality beers with some good local options mixed in - plenty to choose from.

Surprisingly, the food is pretty damn good too, and the chef de cuisine likes to cook with beer to make some tasty stuff: about as good as bar food gets I imagine.

The service is usually pretty decent: the bartenders are sometimes not too attentive, and occasionally not too knowledgeable, but they get the job done well enough and are always pleasant.

Overall, this is a pretty good place to get a quality beer and something tasty to eat - just don't bring a date here if you're looking for an impressive/cozy atmosphere.
