GodXilla has a little sister, and man is she wild! The same fermentation techniques of the infamous sour porter has made its way into this lighter bodied, lighter strength, lighter colored and more finesse of a sour ale.
BlondXilla is hazy and golden as its highly turbulent pour brings champagne effervescence and a billowing rocky head. Tangy aromas of sour light fruit lead the way- white grape, crabapple, lemon and lime entice the nose with its vinous backbone. Wheat-laden sweetness and body plays out with a creamy and short sweetness that's remiss of sweetheart candy and warheads.
As the sweetness trails off quickly, the fruit sourness builds in, bringing an acute acidity that sparkles on the middle palate like bubbly white wine. Its earthen waves roll on with hints of cork, musty peach, weathered oak, and sea brine. Its closure is chocked full of peppery spice, light wood tannin and light peaten smoke.
BlondXilla finishes with palate-stripping refreshment as its acidity easily contends with all thirst. Its medium-light body still retains low levels of malt starchiness as echoes of powdered sugar and saddle leather resonate through the aftertaste and retronasal passages.
