On-tap at Blue Collar Brewery Inc., Poughkeepsie, NY
A: The beer is dark brown when viewed from afar and when held up to the light it is clear but very dark red in color. It poured with a thin off white colored head.
S: Light to moderate aromas of nutty malts are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has a little stronger flavors of nutty malts.
M: It feels just about medium-bodied and a bit dry on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: The smell and taste of this beer seem a little muted compared to others in the style.
Serving type: on-tap

A: Pours a clear, almost opaque dark reddish brown in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate amounts of chestnut brown + mahogany + garnet red colored highlights. The beer has a half finger tall sudsy creamy tan head that slowly reduces to medium sized patch of very thin film and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Just shy of moderate aromas of caramel + chocolate + nutty + toasted malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness. Hints of earthy hops.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of caramel + chocolate + nutty + toasted malts with a light amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by very light flavors of earthy hops which contribute a minimal amount of bitterness.
M: Light to medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and sessionable. Enjoyable but even though there is some complexity to the malt flavors and aromas, the beer feels slightly muted.
