The Scottish Export Style Ale from 51st Ward is a solid offering. The beer poured a clear amber with white head that left a spotty lace. The scent included touches of bourbon. The taste was dominated by bourbon but was yet easy drinking. The mouthfeel was fuller in body and the carbonation was nice and smooth. Overall this is a solid scotch ale that would be enjoyed by those who appreciate a nice scotchy ale.

Tasted in a 12 oz snifter from a 500 ml on October 3, 2015. Look is brown, thick tan head and some lingering lacing. Smell is dried fruit, caramel, with some barrel and wood notes. Taste is sweet with bourbon and barrel tastes coming through. Feel is medium in body with a creamy finish.
