Local brewery with tasting room.
Small space with tables in and a small patio area out with Windows that open between the two so usually pretty crowded which keeps the vibe level up though.
Even with it busy, it's pretty easy to get to the counter and order.
A taste, sample, pint, growler or crowler.
Nice selection of year round taps with new ones rotating.
Food truck usually around for a bite.
Great place to drop by.

A nice little brewery tucked away in San Clemente. Definitely recommend going and getting the "Hot Stephenie"

It's not just Pizza Port in town anymore. Artifex Brewing is one of many new breweries to have popped in Orange County over the least few years, and I'm happy to see that south Orange County is lucky enough to have one of them. Artifex is located in the hills of San Clemente, and just for fun is near the Rainbow Sandals factory.
Despite being in an industrial complex and not easy to spot from the street, Artifex is in a pretty location and it feels that you're away from the crowds. The tasting room has a small interior with the brewing equipment a stone's throw from the counter. Additional seating and tables rest outside.
Eight different beers pouring from the taps, with three different pours sized (5 ounce, 10 ounce, 16 ounce), and styles including an amber lager, pale lager, American wheat, rye IPA, Double IPA, cream ale with hibiscus, and brown ale. I tasted three of the beers (amber lager, American wheat, brown ale), and the American wheat was my favorite of the litter. Solid beer quality across those three samples. As is the case of many of the newer breweries, it will be interesting to track their progress, and I'll keep an eye on Artifex.
