I had this on tap at Beer Shop, NYC and was surprised to not see it on the database. I added it as an English Porter because Catskill Brewing Co. describes it as having English malty goodness. However, a lot about it feels like an American Porter, so, feel free to change the style.
This was a tasty and lovely Porter all around. It poured a dark brown, nearly black color, with a moderate tan head which mostly disapated towards the end. The aromas were filled with roasty, coffee and chocolatey goodness. Mild roasty flavors and a moderate sweet coating followed by hints of espresso. Soft, mellow and ultra smooth, the carbonation was quite gentle too. Medium bodied and quite easy to put away given the ABV. Solid all around.
