Ratface Macdougall is brewed with a blend of hops that showcase Motueka (from New Zealand) which adds the tropical fruit character along with some spice and Mackinac (from Michigan), which has notes of melon, papaya and citrus fruit. We brew Ratface Macdougall with our house ale yeast.

Hazy orange pour with a medium white head. The aroma brings tropical fruits layered over a light malt sweetness. The flavor is soft, moderately sweet, and easygoing, finishing with a pleasant touch of bitterness. Competent and drinkable, but ultimately just another hazy IPA without much to set it apart.

Not sure how fresh my cans were. Just had that sweet old can flavor. No hops left.

Poured into a pint glass not expecting the great caliber taste. The look was of a hazy ipa with not a lot of head and nothing unique. Smell, taste and feel ALL unique! Citrus smell with honey tones and the taste was great. And it keeps getting better - stopped at half beer to let the beer open up. It has a grapefruit bitter taste and the feel had a sparkling aftertaste. Overall, the beer was a surprise recipe which has now put me in a position to go out of my way to get another.

Nice citrus and straw to the nose, pours golden and hazy with a finger of foam that dissipates to lacing- somewhat bitter with an amazing dry finish that begs for another sip. 8.3% abv with a kick . Definitely a winner and the brewery made my road trip list for this summer!
