Pours a clear dark chestnut brown color with hints of ruby in the glass. A large creamy head retains well.
The nose is rich with notes of toasted and biscuity malts. Aromas of toffee, dark and milk chocolate, lightly roasted malts, honey, dark fruit and woodsy hops.
Toasty and biscuity with some nuttiness and roasted malts. The flavor is moderately sweet with a dry palate. Notes of dark chocolate, honey, toffee, coffee, and fruity esters. Woodsy and earthy hops flavors provide just the right touch of balancing bitterness to an otherwise malty profile. The finish is smooth and dry.
Medium to full bodied with an excellent drinkability. The mouthfeel is smooth, creamy and mouth coating. The carbonation is moderate to gentle.
Solidly crafted and delightful! Smooth and balanced, I will certainly have this again!
