Pours a darker and cloudy Amber with a slight orange tint. The head has a decent retention and a thin disk covers the beer with creamy off white head. The aroma is mild but has some nice dark malt qualities, grains and fruits. The taste is similar but with an off-putting flavor on the finish; slightly metallic and astringent. The body is a little thin for the style and fairly carbonated. A little tweaking needed.

The look and feel of this Old Ale harkens back to its legacy detailed on the label..."a throwback to what our brothers would have been drinking in Tun Tavern in 1775." Cloudy, beautiful, unfilteres look and a good hop/malt balance for complexity. Proceeds for a good cause too, pick this one up.

12oz. bottle served in a tulip. Pours a caramel hue with a slightly hazy clarity and a loose, quarter inch bright white head that dissipates towards the shoulders into a bubbly slick. Nose expresses soft toffee notes, sugar and biscuity malts. Taste is somewhat consistent with nose; however, it comes off a bit watery and dull and there is a trace of wet cardboard towards the back. Mouthfeel is light-medium in body with a pleasant, even carbonation and a trace of oiliness that becomes detectable as the carbonation diminishes. Overall, a decent old ale. Not particularly complex but still quaffable.
