Very dark, almost black, with brown edges. Beautiful beige foam.
Intense smell, full, malty base, and toasted, dark. Then american hops, citric. Toasted, good.
Full taste, again toasted, well mixed with the fruitiness and citric from the hop. Bitter finish, with a light astringency.
Roots notes, and grassy hop, in the aftertaste, along with toasted notes, and a light coffee.
Long and good. Maybe a bit too toasted for the style, but good.

This beer was bottled one year ago, yeah one year ago! Wtf distribution?! Any ways the aging might have done good things this time. This is a really good black IPA.
L - Hazy dark and brown with a nice mocha head
S - Tangerine, grapefruit, coffee, really nice smell
T - Earthy hops, grapefruit and orange, coffee. Some rose notes, mango.
M - well that's smooth. Low carbonation
O - my first beer from this brewery and it's really well crafted. It reminds me a lot of tempest's in the dark we live. I'd like to try it fresher

Poured to teky Zymology glass.
A: Voragem is a black IPA, so its body is mostly black but has some hues of copper and red. The head is beige to brownish, having lots of retention. No lacing.
S: The aroma is resinous, with a bit of hops and with a great hint of the amount of alchohol present.
T: The taste is very near to a normal IPA, being mostly resinous with some citrus notes. The hoppiness here is generous.
M: How awesome... The density is high making this beer very soft and fluffy in mouth. The bitterness presents itself in the back and in the sides of the mouth. Great feeling. Great IPA. Having this fresh must be quite an experience.
O: Mean Sardine is basically one of the best breweries in Portugal. I'm glad we make beer like this because this beer has enough quality to be spoken outside my country. Voragem is my first Black IPA and it totally proved that is a non-official style to follow. Cheers!
