25cl murky dark amber or brown shade of red. Fizzy head that recedes fairly quickly and then vanishes.
Nose has the burgundy berries, some alcohol, vinegar and a pungent cellar pervading.
Taste is surprisingly bitter and weak-bodied. Aftertaste mixes some caramel and nut with a red wine-like upper layer. And that's it. Almost watery.
A bit perplexed comparing to other reviews elsewhere. Maybe the beer is just past its prime and dried out, but my experience about aging finds it hard to believe there was ever anything much to thin out. But there definitely is none of the (badly needed) sweetness or body left. And the burgundy barrels are therefore cast to dry land. Hence the vinuous notes are more like cheap sangria than worth the effort. The bitterness is jarring too. Huge disappointment.
