De Belgiuminabox. En Nerja, apartamentos Pintada Rooms. En copa de vino. El espino amarillo le da un toque ciertamente peculiar, lo que unido a una acidez controlada y un potente fondo maltoso resulta en una sour de lo más amigable

The brewers describe the beer as a tribute to Flanders Red Sour Ales with a Danish twist, adding Sea Buckthorn honey to sweeten the sour sting.
Bought in a 0.5L can at the BBP shop in Brussels.
When I opened the can, the Buckthorn was immediately noticeable. (I love Danish Buckthorn jam, so the taste and smell are known) Giving the beer itself a proper smell, the sour ale (I was reminiscent of Rodenbach) really is present.
Served in the same tumbler I always use.
I know to give sours a good hard pour, but no head emerged.
Colour is an autumnal rusty orange with some modest carbonation.
I love sour ales. This starts off promising, but soon the sourness is being "put a lid on" by the warming fruity sweet honey. Kills it basically. You're left with a sticky and milky aftertaste and an "after the sourness" sensation (like tire tracks of a car that was never here). Because I'm big on the sours I'm obligated to say I'm disappointed. I'd love some of that Sea Buckthorn honey to put on my sandwich any day. Just not in my beer. For me it's not balanced. A stump.
