Blind-tasted except for the beer's name and brewery/country, zero reviews below read (yet!)...
L- Pours inky black, with one of the darkest brown heads of foam I think I've ever seen... really quite something. It's a 1Cm foam cap which at this ABV% is an astonishing achievement. ps. @+10mins. Some head continues to hold up, now 3mm, but it's formed heavy lacing all the way down - remarkable! [I rate 4.5, one of the highest ratings I have ever given for Look].
S- More subtle than expected, I was expecting a blaster here. Toasty, rich and some cocoa.
T- WOAH, BOOM!! Good lord, this is SURELY liquor barrel aged. Pungent liquor, deeply toasty, rich though not in any way sweet, then off into a smokey notably bitter... dark cocoa(?) finish. The finish is bitter enough that it leaves the roof of my mouth feeling slightly numbed. However the richness/pungency it somehow doesn't matter as it's within balance of the other extremes...
F- Very big, very pungent. Do not try and sample/review anything else after a can of this; at least not for a good palate-cleansing while. I'm getting the cocoa a bit more clearly now BTW...
O- A can of this is absolutely made for sharing, it's so full on I can imagine many people getting worn-our palates sooner than they expect. Good for slow-sipping, good for colder months and Xmas, meanwhile today is 28C and it's good tho not a refresher...
Review/scoring all done, now the reveal, I get to read the lables to see what I missed! ==> Contains walnuts and honey - not that I specifically noticed.
440ml can BB: 01/04/2022 £6.20 Bought from TremblingMadness, York/UK as part of a large pick-your own consignment to London.
