The tawny red color of this dazzler is a sight to behold. Think Maureen O'Hara in The Quiet Man, it's that beautiful! Aromas of lightly toasted biscuits and caramel overflow from the rim, while a sip shows hints of caramel and a touch of roast. Bogtrotter finishes with a subtle balancing kiss of hop spice that is sure to please!

Clear reddish brown pour, small khaki head fades quickly, no lacing. Caramel and roasted grain say the nose, taste bugs agree. Thin body, not much carbonation wise. Probably would buy a sixer, but a can here and there would be fine.

Mostly clear amber pour with a tan head. Smell and taste are the same featuring big malt with faint caramel, light earthy grain, and a kiss of grassy hops. Didn't think of it but after reading Tmoney's review below I agree that background tobacco notes emerge, good catch! Feel is malty, light, crisp and leans a bit flat. A crusher for St. Patrick's day, Slainte!

Served from tap in a pint glass at the tap room.
It's Spring, so Irish things are in vogue at our various alcohol slingers. This red pours a clear sunset garnet topped by a finger of glowing cream foam. The nose comprises mild caramel, dank greens, and light Connecticut tobacco. The taste brings in more of the same, with some vegetal grass replacing the tobacco notes. The body is a light medium, with a light moderate carbonation and a fluid feel. Overall, a solid red, one that plows some hoppy seas without allowing the waves to crash too hard on the malty hull. Not bad.
