Had this on-tap at Waterloo Brew 2 weeks ago, so this review is being written from notes. Served in a pint glass. Draws a very dark brown, almost black color that lets in no light whatsoever with a tan head about 2/3 inch thick when first served to me. Head eventually settles to a medium ring lining the inside of my glass with little bits of foam here and there on the beer's surface and good lacing on the inside of the glass. Aromas of dark roasted malts and hints of chocolate and coffee notes. Flavors of dark roasted malts along with chocolate and coffee notes along with just a slight touch of hops. Spot for this style. Good balance of flavors. Has a crisp, medium to full bodied mouthfeel with moderate to heavy carbonation.
