12 ounce can into pint glass, canned on 9/13/2017. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy medium golden amber color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big lemon, orange, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus zest/peel, light pepper/pine, light caramel, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon, orange, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus zest/peel, pepper, pine, light caramel, toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus rind, herbal, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, citrus peel/rind, pepper, pine, toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.1%. Overall this is an excellent American pale ale. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/earthy hops and moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink; with the modestly bitter/resinous/drying finish. A bit aggressive, but not overwhelming. Never had Dr. Rudi hops before, very tropical with balanced lemon/orange citrus notes. Dank, earthy, and vibrant hop complexity; nice bready malt backbone, with no residual sweetness. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

I found a can of this off a single shelf at the nearby Giant Eagle. It poured clear copper with white head that is leaving a spotty lace. The scent had citrus peel flare. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink. Good tropical citrus presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a solid beer.

Not sure if this was just a bad batch or what but this is not very good. Has a very odd smell and not a good taste at all. I bought a six of these and this was my first one. If the other are better I'll revise my review.

Canned on 8/16/17. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours golden with solid clarity and has bubbles racing upwards; huge chunky white head that falls very slowly leaving great thick retention and nice lacing. The aromas are on the tropical side with some subtle hints of citrus. Malts are there. The tropical fruits open up even more as it slightly warms. The flavors follow the nose perfectly. Malts do their thing, but the hop flavors shine. Moderate bitterness. Alcohol goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is light with moderate carbonation. It's very fluffy, smooth and easy to drink.
This is a very nice pale ale. This is my first time trying or even hearing about "Dr. Rudi" hops, and I can say I wouldn't mind seeing them again. Very enjoyable stuff.
