Bringing back an old favorite, to the days a caramel malt yore. This imperial stout is brewed with 3 different types of caramel. Robust yet sweetly smooth with a roasted bitterness and warming heat to balance it out.

From the 22 oz can in a snifter....and maybe from Bluejacket....
we can't remember.....that and it's from the doomsday brew closet so
anything is possible. This nice brew pours a thick obsidian with
dark brown highlights and a very nice head of tan foam that settles
to a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and sports some excellent lacing.
Nose of dark chocolate, rich caramel, subtle coffee, char, roast, and
earthy malts. Flavors surpass the nose nicely with rich sweet
caramel that is balanced nicely with brulee and roasted elements
of coffee and notes of dark chocolate along with a nice touch of
cream. Very nice mouth feel; medium full body, light carbonation that
is nice and soft, and a rich roasted malt driven finish.
Overall, a FANTASTIC brew!
Cheers

16 ounce can, looks like the stamp on the bottom of the can says it was canned on 12/04/19. Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with about an inch frothy tan head. Head retention and lacing are both pretty good. Aroma is mostly sweet, the brew smells mainly like caramel, along with some chocolate, vanilla and roasted malt. Taste is pretty must just like the aroma, but there's also some candi sugar and a bit of an earthy bitter flavor noticeable. Aroma does seem sweeter to me compared to the taste, although in general it is a sweeter tasting imperial stout. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's creamy and a bit slick with a moderate amount of carbonation. 11% ABV is well hidden here. I liked this brew, if you're into sweeter tasting beers then give this one a try!

This is an "Imperial Sweet Stout". Canned on 12/4/19. 16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours almost black; dark khaki head that fades leaving nice retention and lacing. The aromas have some vanilla leading the way. Hints of caramel. Sweet malts. The flavors follow the nose. More vanilla and sticky caramel. Some cocoa nibs. Subtle hints of toffee in the mix. Mild to very low bitterness. It's obviously on the sweeter side, but it's not cloying. Strong malt backbone. Mild warmth in the finish, but the alcohol is well hidden. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate to low carbonation. It's creamy, fluffy, velvety and smooth. This one is big, but it's still dangerously drinkable.
This is a pretty solid sweet stout. It's not too flashy, but it's exactly what you would expect from an "Imperial Sweet Stout". It's basically a traditional and classic example of the style for the most part, but an imperial version. It's enjoyable stuff.

Pours dark with a frothy tan head. Heavy, chewy. Decent drinker.
