16 FL OZ can
Served in a sour glass

This beer pours amber and hazy. It is topped with an inch of tan head that leaves spotty lacing.

The mango and pink guava come through nicely in the smell. It smells plenty sour too.

The flavor is intense. The fruit comes through great. Just when I think it is too sweet the sour comes through to cut the sweetness. The sourness almost makes me pucker, but it definitely leaves me wanting another sip.

Soft mouthfeel with a bit of a dry finish

This is a really tasty beer. I love the contrast of the sweetness and sourness. It is a perfect after work beer for today.

Bright, tart, fruity aroma. Pours an opaque orangish/pink with a dusting of white head. Strong flavor of mango and guava to start, which fades out to a lingering tart finish. Full mouthfeel, it feels almost like biting into a piece of mango. OVerall, a solid beer, but I wouldn't call it a Berliner Weiss.

This is an exciting beer, and an exciting style. I've been keener on sour or tart styles lately, and the big ones really can be interesting (although they are usually smallish, big is not against the tradition of the style).

It pours cloudy, dark yellow with some fizz. The aroma is a yeasty, malty, fruity smell. The taste is obviously very tart, with some of the spice components showing through. The aftertaste is pure and not very boozy. Very refreshing.

I was thinking that these recent big American versions of gose and Berliner Weiss were Just that, American, but upon further review, the German's would add lactose and spices to these beers in this style. This one has lots going on and it totally works. One of my favorites from this brewer and of this style.

It should be noted that this is a collaboration with Streetside Brewery.

Highly recommended.
