I got a 6pck of this from my local meijer. It poured an opaque dark with ecru head that is leaving some lace. The scent had faint tropical fruit hop notes. The taste started with fruit hop then finished with slight chocolate roast malt. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a good beer.

12 oz can poured into a snifter.
Almost pitch black, huge head, like there is something wrong huge head. This better not be infected. Smells of sweet fruit with a touch of burnt caramel. Taste is tropical fruits and coating syrup. So freaking sweet and the sweetness builds as you sip. This is a chore to finish. Mouthfeel is good, soft like a NEIPA should be. Pissed off that i bought a 6 of this. I will have to mix one into a rotation every once in a while so I can finish them. Sweeter than a lot of heavy stouts I have had. No thanks.

Look - hazy dark brown color with good skimming
Smell - lot of tropical fruit with very very slight toasted caramel malts
Taste - a lot like the scent but slightly more of that caramel toastiness
Feel - medium body with a light carbonation
Overall - FANTASTIC different beer

Collaboration with Against The Grain Brewery. This is a "Black New England IPA". Canned on 6/26/18. 12oz can poured into a tulip. Pours almost black with a creamy khaki head that falls leaving nice retention and sticky lacing. The aromas have roasted malts along with some chocolate. Some subtle tropical fruit in the background. The flavors have more roasted characteristics leading the way. It does finish kind of sweet though. More chocolate. Some soap and pine in the mix. Moderate to low bitterness. Solid malt backbone. Alcohol basically goes unnoticed. Mouthfeel is medium-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy, creamy, smooth and easy to drink.
This is a pretty solid brew. They ultimately executed the combination of a "New England IPA" and a "Black IPA". It's roasty, slightly sweet and juicy. Nice collaboration. It might not be over the top, but the it's well executed.

I was expecting pretty much what this brew delivered, and that's saying something (odd).
It's black with nice fizz. It smells sweet and fragrant from hops and yeast and things. All very nice. The taste delivers on this, a malty, well charged brew, with all kinds of stuff all balanced nicely.
Highly recommended.
