From the growler via Jungle Jim's Eastgate in a snifter. This very nice
milk stout stout pours a rich blackish brown with a nice head of khaki
foam that dissipates to a thick ring, thin wispy layer, and displays some
rather nice sudsy lacing. Nose gives notes of lactose, char, and medium dark
chocolate with deep roasted malts with hints of coffee and a touch of dark raisin.
Flavors follow the nose with a nicely roasted chocolate malt given into light
touches of char and sweet lactose sugar that is balanced without being cloying.
Touches of dark fruit hit with warmth and display notes of blackberry and a
touch of dark raisin bread mingling with coffee notes. Very nice mouth feel;
medium full body, lightly slick, moderately sweet, balanced, and medium low
carbonation allowing for some nice coating effect on the tongue.
Overall, a SOLID brew from a solid brewery.
Cheers
