From the tall boy can in a snifter. This very nice imperial pours a
rich obsidian with a fantastic head of brown foam that settles
to a thick ring, thick clumping layer, and displays some
exceptional lacing. Nose of bourbon, dark chocolate,
faint nut notes, light oak, light vanilla, char, and deep roast.
Flavors are on point with bourbon, char, nuts, oak, nice
vanilla, dark coffee, dark chocolate, subtle cream, and
warming booze. Nice mouth feel; full body, smooth,
rich, warming, medium light carbonation, and a
warming lightly dry finish.
Overall, an excellent hybrid imperial that is NOT
retired in any fashion.
Solid!
Cheers

Big boozy aroma, with hints of bourbon. Pours an opaque black with just a ring of light tan head around the edge of the glass. There's a lot going on, with hints of chocolate, vanilla, nuts, barrels, and a bit of alcohol heat in the finish. Very light carbonation and a rich mouthfeel definitely make this a sipping stout. I would like to have seen a bit more carbonation, and I'm very curious how the can stashed in the cellar will taste in a year or so after some of the heat drops out.
