Pours a hazy gold without much foam. Not much on the nose to me. Has a very euro lager malty body to it. Fizz is just right and goes down easy. Well done

This marks the CANtinuation of my (Un?)Happy New Jumping Off of the New Platform Beer Sunday (Week 755)! I have been redding up my house during my CANvalescence from surgery & putting together a number of brewery horizontals in doing so. I had planned, even before its announcement about its sale to A-B/InBev, to drink a buncha beers & a seltzer from Kleveland's Platform Beer Co. for this week's NBS. I was disheartened to hear of the news, especially having read the GI story. I am not one to boycott a beer due to their acquisition by a large corporation, but it did take some of the wind out of my sails.
From the CAN: "Easy Lager"; "Little*Easy*Drinker"; "Malts[:] Pilsner[,] Vienna[,] Munich I[,] Melanoidin[,] Acidulated[,] Carafoam[,] Hops[:] Centennial[,] Yeast[:] Lager[,] Plato[:] 11[,] IBU[:] 19"; "Ohio Craft Beer".
I found myself reflecting on my sadness that this brewery is being subsumed as I got ready to Crack! open the vent. I have been reading a LOT of negativity being spewed & thus far, none of their beers have been worthy of such vitriol. I CANtinued with a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. This led to the formation of just under two fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, bone-white head with moderate retention. Color was a slightly-hazy Straw-Yellow (SRM = > 2, < 4). Nose had a light, toasty sweetness, undoubtedly from all of the malts! Will the corporate bean-counters allow this to CANtinue? Mouthfeel was medium, on the big side for a Lager. The taste had an interesting tang, probably from the acidulated malt, although the Melanoidin may have also CANtributed. That said, it was very easy-drinking. It was light in the mouth & quite crushable overall, disappearing out of my glass & down my throat in no time flat. Finish was in that Twilight Zone between semi-sweet & semi-dry. Very nice.

I got this off the single shelf from my local Giant Eagle store. It poured a hazy yellow with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent had faint Belgian blonde twang. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with subtle hint of bitter citrus. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a decent beer.

Mild lager aroma, with a touch of grain. Pours clear light straw with minimal dusting of head. Very light bodied, mild malt flavor, with a touch of earthy hops. Not a very complex beer, but would be very nice on a hut summer day. Too bad it's winter now.
