Collaboration with Hitchhiker Brewing Company
Our first collab with our friends at Hitchhiker Brewing in Pittsburgh. Orbital Superhighway is fruity pebbles in a glass. Additions of lemon, lime, and orange zest along with an excessive amount of lactose and malted oats create a citrus heavy, thick and creamy body. Taking your first sip is just like chewing on a spoonful of fruity pebbles from yesteryear.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned in 12/2018. Pours very hazy deep golden amber/light orange color with a 1 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/lime/orange zest, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, blueberry, black currant, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruity/spicy yeast, citrus zest, lactose, and bready malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/lime/orange zest, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, blueberry, black currant, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, biscuit dough, light honey/toast, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, woody, grassy bitterness; and peppery yeast spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon/lime/orange zest, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, blueberry, black currant, gooseberry, citrus peel/rind, wood, peppercorn, pine, vanilla, cream, wheat, biscuit dough, herbal, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruity/spicy yeast, citrus zest, lactose, and bready malt flavors; with an awesome malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and no cloying/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and yeast spiciness. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/bready/grainy, fairly sticky, and lightly resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 6.5%. Overall this is an awesome milkshake IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruity/spicy yeast, citrus zest, lactose, and bready malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the mellowly bitter/resinous/drying finish. Great soft feel. Great unique Citra Cryo/Arianna hop profile, along with fruity/spicy Voss Kveik yeast. Very juicy and fairly dank/earthy hops/yeast; great lactose and wheat/oat/malt balance. Mild residual sweetness with lingering resin dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.
