With a deep ruby red color, this Gose is sure to delight the senses. Possessing a surprisingly full mouthfeel bursting with blackberry and lemon goodness, this tart refresher has a bright acidity and a touch of salinity that will keep you coming back for more.

Welcome back to I CAN Only Tell You That I Am Drinking These New Beers This Sunday of My Own Free Will Before CANother Flashback Begins (Week 767)! I went upstairs after those first two & had a bit of a lay-down before arising & taking a tab. It's time for a CANQuest (tm) flashback to Weeks 755/756!
A note of explaCANation: These next several are NOT out of the backlog, but from various venues as the pre-buyout CANs still have the "Independent" seal & will be CANlector items. I am buying them as I find them, but the stream will eventually dry up. 8=(
From the CAN: "Kettle Sour Series"; "Gose Style Ale"; "Blackberry*Lemon*Sea Salt"; "Malts[:] Pilsner[,] Pale Wheat[,] Vienna[,] Carafoam[,] Acidulated[,] Melanoidin[,] Hops[:] Crystal[,] Yeast[:] American Ale[,] Adjuncts[:] Flaked Wheat[,] Blackberry Puree[,] Lemon Peel[,] Sea Salt[,] Plato[:] 10[,] IBU[:] 8"; "Ohio Craft Beer".
I was curious to try this one since I have found an affinity for Goses, thanks to their inCANsion of Sea Salt. To this end, and since it also had a wheat malt base, I did a little bit of in-CAN agitation before Crack!ing open the vent just to ensure that everything was in suspension. The Crack! was spectacular & so I CANtinued with a slow, gentle C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. It responded by foaming up beautifully to form two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, pinkish head that would best be described as resembling freshly-spun cotton CANdy! Color was a cloudy Magenta (SRM = N/A). Nose smelled like salted Raspberry Lemonade! 8=O Hey, we now have salted caramels, salted chocolates, why not salted Raspberry Lemonade? Yum. Mouthfeel was thin-to-medium, less watery than many in the style. The taste was … ready? Salted Raspberry Lemonade! 8=O Oh my, but it was tart & salty! This would have been CANtastic during this past Summer. All three of the primary adjuncts worked really well together, as long as you are into saltiness. We know that Raspberry Lemonade is a real thing already. Dang, but this was tasty. Its (relatively) low ABV made it quite quaffable, again as long as neither tart (not sour) nor salt bother you. This was better than a cup of bug juice on the fantail! Finish was tart, salty & totally dry. Mmm. YMMV.

A: The beer is hazy ruby red in color—too hazy to see if there is any visible carbonation. It poured with a quarter finger high off white head that left a thin layer of bubbles covering the surface, a collar around the edge, and a touch of lacing down the sides of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of sour blackberries are present in the nose along with hints of lactobacillus.
T: The taste has flavors of blackberries along with hints of lemon and only a light amount of sourness—it's just a tad bit more sour than it is salty.
M: It feels a bit more than light-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: This beer is very easy to drink and is much more fruitier than it is sour.
Serving type: can
