Welcome back to my Happy New I'm CANming Dahn Offa the Platform to Drink a Beer of My Own Free Will This Sunday (Week 764)! I have been diddling with Platform BC since Week 755 (8=O) & I am ready to finally put Kleveland in my rear-view. This is not animosity towards them for having been purchased by a larger CANcern, but simply a) I am tired of week after week of Platform beers & b) as a Pixburgh sports fan for over 45 years, I have NO love of Kleveland. Sorry.
From the CAN: "Hazy-Brut Style India Pale Ale Platform x Free Will Collaboration"; "Liquid & Friends First"; "Grains[:] 2-Row[,] White Wheat[,] Flaked Oats[,] Hops[:] Sabro[,] Yeast[:] Voss Kveik[,] Plato[:] 14.5[,] IBU[:] 12"; "Ohio Craft Beer".
Ooh, I am at the finish line. This is actually the CANultimate!
Parting is such sweet sorrow, but it all beCAN with a Crack! of the vent, followed by a slow, gentle, C-Line Glug into the awaiting glass. I was CANfounded by their making a hazy Brut IPA & as such, once it became obvious that clarity was impossible, I ramped up the Glug. I wound up with two-plus fingers of dense, foamy, rocky, French Vanilla-colored head with great retention. Color was a hazy Golden-Amber (SRM = > 5, < 7). Nose was really tropical with notes of coconut & pineapple! 8=O Mouthfeel was medium to full with a pleasant creaminess. The taste was very much of coconut with just a hint of pineapple! 8=O This might be a problem if coconut is not your bag, but I love coconut! There was also a bit of an alcohol burn to go with it & suddenly it hit me - Malibu Rum! That kind of thing is generally not my thing, but I am with AT&T so this thing was more thing for my thing. What an oddball! Warming, it also took on a vanilla quality. Yum. This was more like a dessert beer than an IPA, but is that reason to dun it? Stylistically, yes, but Overall, no. Finish was only semi-dry, which is also a style flaw in that it should be Champagne-dry. This needed some tweaking before CANtinuing. YMMV.

Golden and hazy with a slight white head from pounder can. Less powerful hoppy nose on this brew. Some kind of hint of wine on the flavor. Very dry, fleeting flavor with some fruitiness in there. Prickly but not highly carbonated. I may be underrating this beer but I’ve just had two really good Imperial IPA’s and this doesn’t totally stand up as well. FYI a collaborative effort with Free Will.
