16 ounce can, canned on 01/12/21. Thanks to Brutaltruth for this brew! Served in a snifter, the beer pours dark brown/black with almost an inch tan head that didn't stick around for too long. There's a small amount of lacing. The brew smells like dark fruit, vanilla, roasted malt, coffee and some bourbon. Taste is similar to the aroma, but there's also some oak, dark chocolate and caramel flavors noticeable. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's slick and a bit creamy with a moderate amount of carbonation. Easy enough to drink. Wasn't a fan of this after the first few sips, but luckily it got better the longer I drank it. Guess I had to let this imperial stout warm up longer than I usually do. Certainly worth trying if you come across some!

16 oz can, born on 1/12/21, poured into a snifter at 55 degrees F:
L - black and oily with no head
S - bourbon, molasses
T - follows the nose, nice blend of bourbon and molasses
F - thick mouthfeel with minimal carbonation
O - very good beer, could benefit from some oak or char taste

Pours an effervescent chestnut hued mahogany with a finger of fast-falling mocha colored head. No head retention or lacing

S: Dark fruit, a little Bourbon. plus vanilla

T: Follows the nose, a little chocolate, dryness, candied cherries, plenty of barrel warmth up front. Woody hops mix with molasses & dryness as this warms, plus some boozey warmth & figs. Finishes dry with woody hops, some Bourbon bite, figs, & dark cherry

MF: Medium bodied/sticky, moderate carbonation, warming

Solid take on the style, just didn't really grab me. This is style with many superstars, this is more workaday

16oz can poured into a tulip. Pours almost black; khaki head that fades leaving decent retention and lacing. The aromas have bourbon leading the way. Some chocolate, dark fruits and caramel. Malts are there. The flavors follow the nose. More chocolate. More dark fruits, especially raisins. More caramel along with some vanilla in the mix. Some oak and wood. The bourbon comes through and blends well with everything. Mild sweetness. Low bitterness. Malts do their thing. Mild warmth in the finish, but it's not hot or boozy at all. Mouthfeel is full-bodied with moderate carbonation. It's fluffy, slightly sharp and smooth. It's not quite thin or watery, but it's not thick and velvety. It's ultimately dangerously drinkable despite the ABV and drinking somewhat big.

This is a solid barrel-aged stout. It has everything that you'd look for in the style, more or less. It might be my new personal favorite though. I've even had a couple from Platform that I personally like more (High River and Twisted Amalgamation), but it's still not bad at all. It's enjoyable.

From the 16 fl oz can in a snifter. This solid brew pours a dark
brown tinged black with a nice head of tan foam that settles to
a thick ring, thin dusty layer, and shows some light lacing. Nose of
bourbon, cocoa, oak, dark fruit, vanilla cream, and touches of
dark coffee with deep char and roast. Flavors follow the nose
nicely with dark roast, char laden malts, cream, coffee, dark bakers
chocolate, dark vinous notes, dark fruit touches of black and blueberry,
and mellow bourbon with balanced oak. Nice mouth feel; full body,
smooth, rich, low carbonation, warming, and finishing full and
medium dry with bitter malts.

Overall---more excellence from a great brewery!

Cheers
