Platform Beer Co. "Terra Trooper DIPA - Series 001"
16 fl. oz. can with an illegible CANNED ON date
Notes via stream of consciousness: A hazy golden body with a peach sheen is capped by a finger's width of white foam. The aroma suggests pineapple, nectarine, orange, and soft pine. The flavor reveals a lush, sweet malt base that includes some wheat and oat notes as well as grainy barley. It might even be Pilsner malt as there is a grassy note to it. All of the fruit found in the aroma is present along with some additional lychee, sweet guava, and papaya. It's a little yeasty, as in actual yeast flavor, which is a drawback. It's not that bitter, the label lists 37 IBUs, but it still finishes mainly dry, at least in part due to the presence of the alcohol at 7.7%. In the mouth it's medium bodied with a dextrinous feel and smooth and velvety due to all of the extra proteins and a moderate carbonation level. The head retention and lacing could both be better but it's not bad.

Can is about 3 months old now but this one really isn't good. There's times where I think its a good sip and I get pine and grapefruit but the soapy feel is a killer and also sometimes it just kinda tastes....idk bile?
Which isn't shocking because I know this place has QC issues. The distribution rep talks enough shit I'd think AB wants out of the deal not the other way around. Horrible brewery.
