This is a porter brewed by The Pike Brewing Co. in Seattle's Pike's Place Market. They chose to brew this one because it was the winner of the Puget Sound Pro-Am Home Brew Competition. Pike chose to brew the winning Porter recipe with home-brewer, Dean Priebe of Leavenworth, WA. This special seasonal release will be on tap at The Pike Pub in mid-August.

Appearance: brownish black with 1/2 finger of head and very, very, very minor lace

Smell: chocolate, flowers, complex

Taste/Mouthfeel: thin on the palate, flowery, hop bite, coffee, spicy hops, minor chocolate

It was a good thing that I tried this one but I was really unimpressed with it. It appeared to be more like a stout than a porter. I thought it should have had more of a chocolate flavor.
