This is a beer that is not released to the public on a regular basis. It is one of the base beers for Entire Stout and I had this out of a Firkin at a recent Pike brewers night at a local pub.

Served in straight pint glass, the beer was solid black and had no carbonation. None. Absolutely flat. There was a solid malt and grain scent and just a hint of funk. The brewery rep said it wasn't intentional, but may have been picked up from the barrels it was aged in.

The flavor was very good, a nicely solid example of the style. That bit of funk added a little something, in my opinion. The body was full and smooth. Drinkability was pretty good, for a beer over 10%ABV.

If you ever get a chance to try this, do not pass it up.
