Poured a dark brown, but without any suspended particles (clear) with white lacing aroudn the rim of the glass. Smell was that of hops; almost like an IPA. Inviting.

Taste was good. Dark flavors with the hoppy kick int he back of the throat. Texture wasn't as good though... The alcohol isnt well masked and the beer has almost a chalky texture, which seemed odd since it appeared clear of particles.

Appearance – This was (of course) brown in color with a smallish head.

Smell – The toasted malts came our easily in the aroma along with a bit of oatmeal and some hoppy pine resin.

Taste – The malts became a bit tangy at the taste, which I dislike. The piney hop balance though showed up at the tongue, which I do like.

Mouthfeel – This one was nicely carbonated but a little thin IMO.

Drinkability – This wasn’t bad, but I’ve had much better brown ales. I liked the piney twist to this one, though.

Brewed with Pale, Crystal, Wheat, and Roasted Barley malts; Bullion, Williamette, and Liberty hops.
OG=1.050, 4.9% ABV, 17 IBU.

Drank on tap at Pikes BC in Seattle, WA.

Clear, dark copper in color forming a dark beige head with excellent retention and lacing. Aroma is fruity with moderate sweetness, perfumy and floral, tart with notes of soap, very distant toast, and damp water socks. Ugh. Taste begins with oranges, followed by light chocolate, very nutty with fresh wood character, followed by a chemical pink eraser taste. Mouthfeel is initially harsh with a paradoxically smooth finish of moderate herbal bitterness. Medium-bodied. Very odd, and not very enjoyable.
