On draft at the Troy taproom, in pint glass
Appears a very dark brown in color, a little cloudy, with off white colored head. Aroma of toasted bready malt. Taste is similar, with a bit of an underlying hop balance. Fuller bodied.

White on black can dated 12-30-2020
A pale, tan head rises and stays put above a muddy, opaque, dark brown beer. Good retention and lace smears, it's hard to give high "look" marks to too dark and cloudy.
Smells like beer - caramel and chocolate (malts) and some very inviting floral and herbal hop aromas.
Chewy, brown ale flavors from start to finish. Nearly a porter and by style guidelines almost definitely but regardless of name this is full of brown and caramel malt character with mild coffee and cocoa notes mixing with hints of cherries and watermelon. Hop bitterness follows in a supporting role, adding some balance and depth.
Body is medium with a clean, hoppy finish. Burps bring up some caramel and molasses gasses.
Not a pretty brown ale, and a bit heavy for style but a tasty, full flavored "robust" brown ale.

This one pours a medium dark brown color, with a small head, and lots of lacing.
This smells like light breadiness, some caramel, and a bit of hop character.
This is light, but decently and cleanly brewed. It tastes like exactly what you'd expect an average brown ale to taste it. There's a good creamy taste, a good enough malt backbone, and very light hop character.
This is light bodied, slightly creamy, with a pretty good drinkability.
This is a solid if a bit unspectacular brown ale here.

Can to glass mug.
The appearance was a mostly dark brown color topped by a small eggshell white foamy head sliding off nicely to leave some concave lace.
The aroma had a wonderful blend of sweet roasted nuts, smooth caramel and toffee malts rolling into some grassy and earthy hops. Mellow dark chocolate bitterness further underneath.
The flavor moderately leaned towards a subtle bitter dark chocolate tone then allowing some of the roasty nuts to come in with some dark toast and even an ever so slight touch of coffee bean bitterness. Not much of an aftertaste but was there seemed to have some dark chocolate and toasty nuts.
The mouthfeel was almost medium bodied but seemed to sit just a touch under with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation and plenty of smooth malts laying on my tongue. Finishes with some dark toast, dark chocolate and nutty caramel effects.
Overall, pretty nicely done American brown ale with just enough hops to tell me it's an American brown ale. Well worthy of coming back to.
