ann interesting brew, peach and pineapple and peppercorn ipa, where will india pale ale lead us next for heavens sake?! this is relatively clear and bright golden under a half inch of lacy white head, a pretty beer, delicate and unassuming, very pale as they go. the nose shows a lot of sort of generic fruity sweetness to me, not at all peach specific, but a sugary orchard fruit thing thats summery but unspecific in a lot of ways. hops seem subtle too, at least as much fruit as hops here, and thats true when i taste it as well. i like the pineapple in the flavor, its nice with the simple grain, sweet again, but not offensively or undrinkaby so, and with a very very mild peppercorn element, more floral than spicy to me, and all in the finish with the really light hop bitterness. i think a few elements of this could stand to be a little more robust for this to truly come through as unique, but at the same time, i think its good. i wish it were fermented a little drier, although then there might not be any peach at all. culinary and tidy, not as weird as maybe it could have been, and frankly not all that hoppy, but its nice for spring and its good to see these guys continuing to innovate. worth a try this spring!
