not a bad take on a tricky style to brew from this awesome little brewery in winter park. its very pale in color, seemingly thin in body, and more yellow than golden, but with decent clarity. it smells sweet like honey, more one dimensional on the grain front than i am used to in the style, but with a really nice fruity yeast strain that hints at green apple and golden raisin, and not nearly as much booze as you would think for the strength. the flavor is similar to the smell, green apple and white peach and some candy sugar, its very sweet, and the sweetness really is pretty exposed without much body in this, but thats kind of what the style is anyway, just more extreme here, lacking richness despite being so strong and so sweet, if that makes sense. carbonation is great in this one, and it hides its alcohol well. seems like these guys are just starting to get into these more ambitious belgian beers, and this is a pretty good go at it. a few tweaks and it will be awesome, but for now the flavor is great, and thats whats most important.
