750 ml bottle purchased from Lifesource natural grocers in Salem OR $6.99 Pours an ever so slightly hazy golden colour..with a nice sized bubbly white head..leaves great lace Very fresh sharp hoppy aromas, mainly floral with a touch of grass..small bit of lemon peel..very nice really. Taste is hoppy fizzy but well balanced..maybe too balanced for a typical American IPA..by the biscuity malts. This is nice though and what used to be called English IPA back in the day. Mouth feel excellent and very smooth..small carbonation bubbles caress the tongue. THis is a nice bottle conditioned ? ale..if your looking for a hop bomb..this is not it..but a mild hop kick and great palate..this is your beer.

Poured into a Seattle Beer Week pint glass. Pours a medium coppery amber with a fine two finger white head, active carbonation giving great retention and tons of lacing. Aroma of bready, light biscuit malt, piney and light citrus hops, spicy. Flavor is biscuit malt, piney hops with slight citrus, light tropical fruit, spicy; finishes with lingering pine resin hop bitterness and dry malt. Medium bodied with a nice lightly creamy mouth feel. The aroma was subdued, but promising and the flavor is very nicely balanced. A drier, more biscuit malt than normal in NW IPAs, supports the piney and mildly citrus hops very well. There is a undefinable spiciness to the flavor that is quite nice. Great hoppy finish with malt support carrying the lingering resinous hops. I liked this a lot. I'm now 3 for 3 on this newly distributed to the area small brewery. I'm impressed. This one grew on me as I drank it, good to the last drop; increased the taste rating.
