We brewed this IPA with hop balance in mind Not a tropical smack in the face, and not a lip puckering hop bomb. Cascade, Summit, and Chinook in the boil give spicy herbal and floral notes while the Columbus dry hop gives a one-of-a-kind aroma not found in a whole lot of IPAs. We also changed up the malts a little bit, giving a soapy buttery mouthfeel and a hint of sweetness from start to finish. The ending bitterness has a presence but is far from overpowering. 90 IBUs

Dark orangey amber with a big coarse foam in the Crooked Line tulip. Light body and sudsy in the mouth. Some orange peel aroma. A bit of sweet malt, but on the dry side.
Lots of hop flavor. A little orange, a little lime. Moderate bitterness, but a grapefruit peel flavor comes up in the aftertaste. A mineral sort of finish. The citrusy fruit flavor is rather pleasant, but it does get fleetingly hot and bitter.

This is IPA was a dark amber, with a malty taste. Big resin in the nose, and in the taste. This was pretty bitter, but lacked some of the flavors I want in in an IPA.

Bottled 6/23/15.
Pours a hazy honey orange with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. Foamy streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of malt, citrus zest, and earthy hop aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest, earth, and pine needle flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of hop and earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a good level of carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is quite malt and earth forward, but there are some citrus zest aspects I am getting too.
Serving type: bottle.
