Purchased a growler from Ron's Market in Farmington on 09/04/2014. The description said a "moderately hopped with Pacific Northwest varieties; it's not too bitter and has a great finish."
It poured a clear, dark amber with an off white head about one finger high. Good Lacing and the head faded but it kept a nice cap covering the liquid.
The aroma was of malt and yeast. I didn't detect any hop aroma and nothing resembling pacific northwest hops.
The taste was malt forward with a late bitterness and a very sweet finish. The bitterness was very mild and faded very quickly. I didn't detect any american hop flavor, no pine or citrus. The flavor was mostly malt, I suspect that the majority of the grain bill is Vienna or Munich just due to the sweetness of the beer. I just can't get past the sweetness, it is more of a hopped up vienna ale, not really getting an IPA vibe from it.
I rate this a 3 but that might be a slight bit high.
