From the 16 oz. can. Sampled on December 29, 2018.
It pours a dark brown to near black with a slowly diminishing tan head.
A rich roasted sweet malt character greets the nose with the smoky malts more played down and a milky like character.
Light body.
The taste begins more sweet and roasty than smoky but the smoke dots the edges. It ends with a biting earthy bitterness.

Intense smoke, leathery, almost mushroom umami flavor at the finish. The peat fired malt isn't subtle, and gives this a scotchlike edge. It's a light stout rather than a thick one, with more carbonation than I was expecting. Highly recommended, and worth an out of the way drive.

Poured from a growler into a pint glass
Dark brown color with slowly dissipating head, good lacing
malty smell with a touch of smoked peat moss
Well balanced between malt and hops with a touch of smoked peat moss in the middle
Good mouthfeel, not to heavy
Overall an excellent stout. One to be repeated.
