Stopped at the taproom on 5/1/2021. had a full pour. Bought a 750ml crowler for home that was filled 4/19. I am drinking the crowler now.
Look: bright transparent gold, decent white head
Smell: bread, grain, sweet malt
taste: Bread, sweet malt, grain, floral hops, maybe a little of the German noble hops? or mineral notes, grass. Crisp, has a Little bit of bite to it. rather smooth and slightly sweet.
fell is ok
A solid beer, 3.95/5
Comparing this to Iron Exchange Blonde Dopplebock: Iron is smoother and sweeter, Waconia is more complex and a little ruffer.
Brewery notes: We bid farewell to our first round of spring with a new lager offering! This pale, brilliantly clear German lager has a malty nose with hints of grain and bread.
As you take a sip your pallet is assailed by malty sweetness and a warming note as gentle as a spring ray of sun. Subtle notes of hops and a crisp lager finish help round out the complex malt flavors. This spring seasonal is sure to be a favorite. Be warned though, at 8.6% this beer will sneak up on you faster than an April snow storm!
