different from their original weiss, this is a very mild and drinkable hefe type, without a real developed yeast profile at all, maybe fermented a bit cooler, maybe a more mild strain, but it lacks the robust banana and spices ester profile of a classic hefeweizen, and drinks quite mild all the way through it, even when it warms up. its shiny in color, not overly cloudy, and with a nice tall white head on it and lots of bubbles rising up to join it. minimal aroma for me, i get the wheat for sure and its nice and fresh, and a german essence, but more from grain than yeast it seems. i really like the mellow nature of it though, as much as its a little boring, it does have some neat nuance, including a frothy body with a honeyed biscuit complexion, slight pear character, and a little bit of residual sugar that keeps it on my palate awhile after the swallow. drinkable and simple beer really, but quite well made. the first i have had or even heard from these guys, but ive been on a big german beer kick lately, and this one really hit the mark.
