I tried this beer at the brewery. The beer poured a clear amber with white head that did not leave much lace. The scent had caramel malt and subtle bitter hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with sweet malt base and solid bitter hop finish. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it was a good beer!

 

 

 

 

 

On draught in a 16oz snifter at The Turtle Club restaurant in Punta Gorda, Florida L: clear ruby red color with a quarter finger of off white head and moderate lacing S: sweet sugary floral aromas mixed with bitter tannic notes and a slight alcohol scent T: sweet caramel malts up front that quickly convert to strong hoppy citrusy flavors and finish with a decent bitter aftertaste and slight alcohol dryness F: a little thin for such a big beer but suitable for the style O: one of the better Reds I've ever had, and on par with Troeggs Nugget Nectar. Hopefully there's more of this in my future.

 

A hop forward red ale, much closer to an IPA than the red ale name would suggest.

 

 

 

 

 

Really solid great tasting Imperial Red.
