Shared 500 ml bottle at local tasting, thanks to gunnar, who was instructed to bring this back from NI. Black colour, tan head. Nice roasty aroma, notes of coffee, hints of unsweetened liquorice. Fairly dry and roasty flavour with a light body, coffee notes, again hints of unsweetened liquorice, nice enough but not very complex.

Nearly pitch black with ruby highlights. Creamy tan head but no lacing.
Roasted malts, chocolate aromas
Unsweetened chocolate with orange rind bitterness - nice balance
Very smooth and full bodied maybe not true to the style but worked well.
Nicely crafted. Pleasantly surprised that they pushed this one to the edge of the style.

Appearance - Extremely dark with thick beige head of tight bubbles. The head retention is really good and it leaves a medium amount of lacing.

Smell - The first blast is slightly sweet with a tiny bitter edge. This develops to hints of herb and leaves such as coriander with a nice biscuit and licorice overtone.

Taste - Sweet taste of coke, bitter coffee and dark bitter malts balanced with good herb flavour such as mint and coriander.

Mouthfeel - This has good head so it feels pretty full in the mouth. Decent boozy feel with a slight metallic edge but not heavy at all.

Overall - This is an excellent porter. Well balanced with great flavour and depth but not overly heavy. I really think this beer will stand the test of time and become known as a good session porter. Its mix of herb, sweet and bitter make it something special and I personally rate it as one of the best brews I have ever had.
