A Bagby take on a Cream Ale named after Continental Motors who previously occupied this site. Mimics a lighter lager but with that ale sweetness instead of a dry lager finish.

a somewhat pedestrian beer to order at the acclaimed bagby, especially as a first impression beer after hearing such good things, but it was morning, i was hungover, and i had time to stay for several, so i started by just dipping the toe with this cream ale. its a solid example of the style but to me largely unremarkable. its not as crisp and lagered tasting and feeling as i like cream ale to be, and doesnt quite refresh me in that way because of the slightly sweeter, longer vibe this one has. its not quite all the way clear, very pale, and has a nice white head on it, looks the part. i think i get a little corny derived sweetness in the middle of this, a real light mouthfeel, and no hops at all to speak of really in nose or taste, this is relatively standard as they go. i think it would be better if it were a little drier, and its almost too thin in feel, but it worked as a first beer to get me back in the groove, and definitely is a fine choice for a morning drink to get the day going. fortunately, the other beers i had here were both much more exciting! good entry level craft beer or hangover cure...
