A: Nice golden caramel body and very clear look as all the tiny bubbles stream away inside. Looks like the color of golden treacle in the glass. A healthy of ivory suds adorns the top for a few lengthy moments before dissipating out.
S: The nose is lightly bready with a notion of English malts being utilized here. Has that nutty biscuit aroma to it. Hops are herbal, leafy, and with tea like qualities. First time with this Experimental hop but it is definitely more herbal and less fruity to me. Sort of nice but I guess not really as expected.
T: Definitely drinks like an English style IPA or bitter with more focus on the malty biscuit notes combined with some hop flavors of herbal spice. Not particularly juicy or resinous and definitely more restrained with a lower amount of perceived bitterness. Still has some fair balance to it making for a nice session. Interesting hops with a lot of tea leaf likeness to it. Just not what I would typically seek out in an IPA.
M: Light and frothy mouth feel with a nice drying crisp finish. Good balance to the body overall.
D: A nice to try new hop variety ale but not going to be the new super star. Has that earthy herbaceous characteristic that plays well into a more English style setting. Probably not something worth a revisit for me though.
