Amber brew with a modest foam and streaming bubbles in the Piraat tulip. Poured from the 32 oz growler purchased at the brewery in Oceanside. Malty and substantial mouthfeel.
Fairly sweet and grainy for this style, seems to me. Hops are subdued but there's a little gummy, resiny taste at the finish. Then the long bitterish aftertaste takes over. An interesting beer with moderate alcohol content that only lacks the creamy texture of a German Kellerbier.
