Barna Brew

This was a great stop! Located in a quite neighborhood but not far from the tourist zones. The park across the street adds a nice bit of greenery and is calming.

There are a few outside seats and then more seating at the bar and tables. Not large, but not cramped either.

The owner was fantastic. He was friendly, had great beer knowledge and was quick to give out samples. He really cares about the quality of his offerings. If I recall correctly, 12 taps but it could have been more. Plus bottle and can selections.

Added bonus, they have a really well priced wine list that is almost all Spanish wines. We only had an appetizer but I will return for dinner next time I am in Barcelona.

I visited Barna Brew while exploring Barcelona the other day. It's a cozy place, with rustic stucco walls and a big marble bar, and the brewhouse right in back for all to see. They've also got some sidewalk seating, like most establishments in Barcelona.

Unfortunately, when I was there they only had one of their own beers on tap, the Belgian IPA (though they had four guest taps as well, three from the UK and one from another Barcelona brewery). The bartender said that the summer season mostly sold them out, so they were working to catch up on brewing more inventory. I would really like to visit them sometime when they have more than one thing on tap, because I want to like this place!

The bartender was friendly and efficient; she seemed like she might be an owner. She appeared to be fluent in English and French as well as Spanish, and very probably also Catalan.
