this beer is super tasty, the first i have ever heard of these guys, its sort of like a tripel, but bigger in body, lower in alcohol, and somewhat drier than is standard i think. not sure if they call this a belgian strong pale or what, but its very distinct and on point. hazy and thick, honey colored brew. a half inch of white head rests lightly on top. the nose here is great, a little sweet, but also grainy, wheat and oats i would think at the very least, vanilla too, rich and attractive. the flavor matches the nose pretty well, hefty and sweet at first, but it dries right out, tastes like a good granola with a real fruity belgian yeast on top. green apple and mild spice, baking spices, like a pie on thanksgiving, but its all from the yeast. huge body, really big, i like the weight, especially when it dissipates so quickly in the finish. maybe a little filling, but i think more hearty than heavy, and the flavors here are fresh and distinct. this is good enough to have come from belgium. although it may not fit neatly into any style specifically, it works out really well. stoked to get into some more flavors from these guys, this is way ahead of the curve...
